For all those who need time: Our PHP Extended Support
With each new version of the PHP programming language, the PHP community removes older versions from official support. This means that the oldest versions are no longer updated and can pose a risk to your website and other customers on the hosting platform due to security vulnerabilities if they continue to be used without maintenance.
Support for PHP 8.0 was discontinued by the PHP community on 23 November 2023.
We recommend that you always use the latest version of PHP. You should currently use at least PHP 8.1 to benefit from the latest functions and the best compatibility. You can find more information about the changes in this version in the official changelog.
PHP Extended Support offers you the opportunity to continue using outdated PHP versions (PHP 5.2 to 8.0) safely after the official support of the PHP community ends. Normally, PHP recommends updating to a newer version in this case, but for many this involves a lot of effort. With our PHP Extended Support we ensure that your website continues to run smoothly, even if your PHP version is no longer supported. This means you can flexibly upgrade and decide when you want to switch to a new version without any time pressure.

Then access your website via the subdomain and check that everything works as desired. If everything runs smoothly, you can permanently change the PHP version in the easyname customer login. You can find step-by-step instructions on how to do this in our article: “How can I change the PHP version in CloudPit?”
When will we inform you about PHP Extended Support?
We will notify you in advance via email if you are still using an outdated PHP version. This gives you enough time to change the version before the paid PHP Extended Support is activated.
